It's a Campus Sleep-Out!
Let's sleep under the stars, shall we?
The President’s Office is hosting the second annual 91Â鶹ӳ» Campus Sleep-Out! Join your fellow Tigers for a night of games, movie-watching, s’mores, and stargazing on Tava Quad.
The fun begins Friday, Sept. 5., at 6 p.m. First, come pick your favorite spot on the lawn to set down your sleeping bag. Then, head over to Washburn Field to cheer on the 91Â鶹ӳ» men’s soccer team as they take on Cal Lutheran for the 75th Anniversary of Men’s Soccer at 91Â鶹ӳ» or challenge your friends to a game of pickleball, hamster soccer, or show off your video gaming skills.
We’ll come back together at 9 p.m. for an outdoor movie screening, followed by an indulgent late-night breakfast immediately after the movie ends. Spend the evening with your friends dancing to the music of student bands Shop Dog and Jabbawocky, telling ghost stories around the firepits, roasting s’mores, or playing card games by the light of your headlamps. Search for constellations in the sky until your eyelids get heavy. It'll be an unforgettable experience with your 91Â鶹ӳ» community as we kick off this new academic year.
Students, faculty, and staff are all invited to attend. We hope to see you there!
We are seeking staff and faculty volunteers to support the Campus Sleep Out! Email Brenda Soto to sign up for a volunteer spot, and refer to 91Â鶹ӳ»'s employee volunteering policy for guidance in flexing your normal working hours to support this college event.

FAQs
Who can attend?
This event is open to 91Â鶹ӳ» students, faculty, and staff only. Attendees may be required to show a Gold Card to confirm affiliation with 91Â鶹ӳ».
What should (and shouldn’t) I bring?
This isn’t tent camping — we’ll be sleeping in the open air!
- Required: Sleeping bag, Gold Card, and comfy clothes (bring plenty of warm layers — remember this is Colorado in the fall, and it can get chilly at night!)
- Recommended: Sleeping pad or mat, ground tarp, extra blanket and/or towel, camp or beach chair, water bottle, flashlight or headlamp (small flashlights will be provided, but you may also want to bring your own).
- Just for fun: Glowsticks, a deck of cards, yard games, your guitar, a journal, a book to read!
- Prohibited: Tents; portable speakers; coolers; candles; portable stoves, grills, or firepits; animals (other than service animals); weapons; alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drugs. We also recommend leaving behind valuables or anything you don't want to get wet in case of unexpected weather. This list is not exhaustive — as for all on-campus events, please refer to The Pathfinder for all prohibited items.
I don’t have a sleeping bag. Can I borrow one from Outdoor Education?
Yes! Outdoor Ed will have sleeping bags and sleeping pads available to borrow onsite (no charge, no need to reserve in advance). We have about 200 sleeping bags and pads — first-come, first-served.
What are the food and drink options? Can I bring my own snacks?
In addition to the late-night breakfast served around 10:30 p.m., we will have s’mores stations (and firepits) going for most of the night! We will also have hydration stations and movie snacks. Attendees are welcome to bring their own snacks and water bottles, but coolers are not allowed.
Will there be security if I leave my belongings unattended? What about overnight?
Yes — Campus Safety, Student Life, and other College staff will be monitoring the sleep out area throughout the evening and overnight.
Will we have access to bathrooms?
Yes, Armstrong and South Hall will remain open overnight for restroom access.
What if it rains?
We’re keeping our fingers crossed for good weather — no one wants to sleep outside in the rain! If we do have inclement weather, we’ll move the movie screening to Kathryn Mohrman Theatre and late-night breakfast to Rastall. In this case, there will be no sleepover — festivities will end around midnight.
