Art in the Outdoors
Paint Mines and Mosaics with Devin Balara, Thursday, September 18th 10am-5pm
Join us for this fun trip and art making mosaic adventure! The Paint Mines Interpretive Park is a unique landscape within western Colorado that consists of clay deposits and geological formations including winding gulches, hoodoos, and spires. This hike will give you many perspectives of this site and while hiking we learn about the ways in which the clay creates color variations within the landscape.During the trip we will engage in a series of sketching and color observation activities that will give inspiration for our mosaics. After the visit to the Paint Mines, we will have lunch in Arts and Crafts and then spend the afternoon creating unique glass mosaic designs guided by Visiting Artist Devin Balara.
