About the Fair
The Arts and Crafts fair was established to support the Arts and Crafts program at 91Â鶹ӳ». As we continue this tradition, we want the Fair to reflect the values of the 91Â鶹ӳ» community and the Arts and Crafts program. The Arts and Crafts program is an inclusive space that values difference of experience, ideas, and backgrounds. As such, we ask that all makers applying for and participating in the fair be aware of this commitment and actualize it through the following practices:
- Be aware of the symbols and cultural references one may use that aren’t a part of one’s own heritage. You can learn more about this in reading about Dakota Mace’s work:
- Be aware that there are over 29 different holidays celebrated by 7 of the world’s religions between November- January, and we want to be inclusive of all of them; so, we encourage the use of Happy Holidays to wish each other well.
- Value intergenerational learning and engage with this as an opportunity to learn from each other. This fair is a learning opportunity for students and community members and values development at all levels.
- We value sustainability. We encourage artist to know where your materials are sourced and use sustainable practices in the creation of your work.
The Fair will be located throughout Worner Campus Center, which is an indoor venue with two levels. Booths will be assigned by Arts and Crafts staff and will be located upstairs and downstairs. Booths will not all be in locked locations, but security will be present overnight. We will post signs to encourage visitor participation in all areas of the building.
The 91Â鶹ӳ» Arts & Crafts Sale charges a flat fee for artists depending on the space desired. The space options available are:
10’x10’ Space (no furnishings supplied): $250
6’x6’ Space (no furnishings supplied): $200
3’X6’ Table (table and chair provided, no additional space): $150
Two 3’x6’ Tables (table and chair provided, no additional space) $200
Artist Collective 10’x10’ Space (3 or more artists within a collective participating): $300
All 10’x10’ and 6’x6’ unfurnished booths must be furnished by the artist/exhibitor; for 3’X6’ and two 3’x6’ table reservations, only requested table(s) and chair will be provided. Exhibitors are responsible for the operation of their space all hours of the sale as well as for the transportation, insurance, security, and sale of their work. Each exhibitor is responsible for collecting and reporting their own sales tax (see below).
The Arts and Crafts program is dedicated to breaking down barriers to art opportunities. To create greater access, artists who have never participated in the Fair before and find the booth fee a barrier to their participation are eligible to pay what they can.
This is a trust-based system, and we ask that you support this initiative and hold space for those who truly need this assistance to participate. This would provide the artist a 3'x6' table. There are a limited number of spaces available, and we may not be able to accommodate all requests.
The 91Â鶹ӳ» Arts and Crafts Fair requires that your business complies with all business and tax regulations by registering your business, collecting sales tax, and reporting and remitting sales tax as needed.
- We welcome international creatives to join us, but we recommend you contact the customs department and learn what you need to do directly from them as well as be aware of any potential visa implications.
- 91Â鶹ӳ» Arts and Crafts program is not qualified to offer any business, tax, or customs advice. If you have questions, we recommend you consult with an accountant and visit:
- As a host organization for the Fair, we will submit a list of vendors to the state of Colorado.
- 91Â鶹ӳ» assumes no responsibility or liability for the security of any credit card transactions processed on our campus during this event.
The funds raised by booth fees cover the costs of running the Fair including but not limited to: advertising, labor, and set-up fees. Any additional revenue is used to support the Arts and Crafts program for 91Â鶹ӳ» students. You can find out more about the Arts and Crafts program here.
